All faculty, staff, and students who have been approved for increased campus/field activity are to follow the Health and Safety Guidelines.
These guidelines outline:
- Safety protocols and required COVID-19 safety training
- Masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
- Environment guidelines for workplaces including classrooms, labs and common areas
Please take time to review these protocols prior to entering campus or resuming field activity. It is important for you to be aware of and adhere to the Health and Safety Guidelines to help promote a safe and supportive environment - working together is key to our success.
Campus/Field Activity or Campus Access
Make a request
All university buildings are closed, with only limited access to faculty and staff with approved access.
Stages of reopening are guided by Provincial recommendations and guidelines, but USask may decide to move more conservatively in some areas to ensure the health and safety of students, faculty and staff. View our current stage of reopening.
Staff, faculty and researchers that are able to work remotely should continue doing so until further notice but can make a request for long-term campus/field activity or short-term campus access.
Requesting long-term campus/field activity
You can make a request for increased activity on campus or in the field related to specific research, teaching and learning, or critical campus services. For specific direction regarding field work, please see Field Work Expectations During the Pandemic.
Requesting short-term campus access
Requests for short-term access are handled differently depending on the type of request:
For Research Applicants
Research applicants will be provided with a “COVID-19 Safety Permit that confirms they have been approved to resume or commence the research activity.
Safety Permit Amendments
If you need to add an additional worker or update the emergency contact information on your existing approved Safety Permit, please complete the Request a Safety Permit Amendment form. A new Request for Campus Activity submission is required if the scope of work changes significantly or the number of employees participating in the work increases by more than one person.
